Autumn is the quietest time of year to explore Sottoguda and the Dolomites. The woods take on shades ranging from yellow to orange and deep red, whilst the paths are carpeted with leaves that accompany every step with their characteristic crunch.
It is the ideal time for those who wish to slow down, stroll through nature at a leisurely pace and experience the mountains away from the peak tourist season. Temperatures are still pleasant and the autumn light offers evocative views, perfect for photography enthusiasts.
But autumn is also the season for relaxation. After a walk through the woods or a day exploring the local area, it’s lovely to return to a historic house, let yourself be enveloped by the warmth of the wood and enjoy the tranquillity of the village.
The best holiday isn’t always the one where you do the most: sometimes all it takes is a walk amongst the colours of the woods, a good book and the silence of the Dolomites to rediscover your own rhythm.
Every autumn has its own colours and its own pace. We’d be delighted to recommend the most beautiful trails, the best vantage points and the lesser-known spots, so you can experience this season at its very best.
